- Electrical system
My 2019 Audi e-tron developed a sunroof leak. On [XXX], Audi Exchange in Highland Park, IL repaired it as a known issue partially covered by warranty; I paid $526.53. On [XXX] it leaked heavily again from the same area, soaking the headliner, dashboard, carpet, foot wells and seats. The dealer said a different issue caused it; I paid $388.88 more. I had never had an electrical problem before. While the car was at the dealer, they charged it, and an orange battery warning and âElectrical System Malfunctionâ message appeared. They confirmed a charging-system fault but refuse to diagnose it and expect me to pay. The service manager told me to pick up the car and that the matter was closed.…
- Fuel/propulsion system
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The component that failed is high-voltage battery cell 6 (part of the lithium-ion traction battery pack assembly). The physical vehicle and its high-voltage battery system are currently held at Wilsonville Audi in Oregon and are fully available for physical or digital diagnostic inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The terminal failure of the internal battery module triggered an abrupt high-voltage electrical system isolation fault, presenting an immediate risk of sudden propulsion loss while driving at highway speeds. Furthermore, according to the…
- Fuel/propulsion system
The component that failed is battery cell 6 within the internal high-voltage traction battery pack assembly. The vehicle is currently experiencing a severe high-voltage isolation/safety breakdown, flagging diagnostic trouble code B1D9EF1 while running on manufacturer software version 0490. The vehicle and its high-voltage battery pack are currently located at an authorized dealership and remain fully available for inspection upon request. The failure of an internal high-voltage battery cell creates an imminent risk of a sudden, uncommanded high-voltage electrical powertrain shutdown while traveling at highway speeds. This condition causes an immediate loss of motive propulsion, forcing the…
- Electrical system
The contact owns a 2019 Audi E-Tron Quattro. The contact stated that the messages "Electrical System Malfunction", "Please Stop Vehicle", and a message for the battery were displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V867000 (Electrical System); however, the failure recurred a year later. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the high-voltage battery cells needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone but provided no assistance. The contact received a response by email. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
- Service brakes, hydraulic
The contact owns a 2019 Audi E-Tron Quattro. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle intermittently failed to stop while depressing the brake pedal. The contact was forced to depress the brake pedal to the floorboard to stop the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V621000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. Additionally, the contact stated that there was water leaking into the vehicle from the dome light. The contact stated that water had accumulated around the sunroof and believed that the sunroof was the source of the leak. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.
- Lane departure › Warning
Multiple times and at random times the vehicle reports "Central locking: malfunction! See owner's manual". When this happens, the driver's door is completely locked and driver cannot exit the vehicle. Door cannot be opened from outside either. So far this has only caused real delays, but this is a safety issue. I have reported the problem to Audi dealer but they advised that Audi has instructed them to apply software updates and not replace any parts. While the issue continues to re-appear, the dealer has dragged their feet to the point that vehicle is now out of the standard warranty. In researching the issue, this seems to be widely spread on Audi after 2019. Mine vehicle is a 2019 Audi…
