- Fuel/propulsion system
2019 Ducati Multistrada MTS1200S. Bought brand new. The bike constantly stalls when pulling in the clutch coming to a stop. Bike is completely stock. No issues with air filter or fuel. The bike does it intermittently and has almost caused a couple of crashes on the highway when coming into traffic. Bike will stall in backed up traffic on the highway or coming to a red light, then cars behind start moving while traffic starts speeding up and I am having to get the bike restarted. Very dangerous. Not rideable.
- Service brakes
Rear brake becomes ineffective after a period of time. The brake becomes soft, spongy and does not work properly. I've had the dealer check the brakes, bleed them, replaced the fluid and it will work ok for a short time but then the problem returns. The pedal needs a lot of pressure to actuate the rear brake and eventually it doesn't really work at all.
- Engine
The motorcycle randomly stalls when beginning from a stop, adding throttle and then coming off the throttle. It isn't consistent and was very sporadic but today it happened 4 times. It's my understanding that this happens to others based on several posts on ducati.ms forums.
- Engine
1. When pulling in the clutch approaching a stop sign or light, the engine RPM's drop down through idle and the bike stalls. 2. There is traffic behind me doesn't initially know the bike has stalled and starts to move forward. I have almost been hit several times. The same safety issues occurs when coming to a stop, as the bike may not restart immediately. I also have to take my attention away from the traffic in front of me to restart the engine. 3. I purchase the bike used and do not know if it was reviewed by a dealer. I have not done so. Ducati is well aware of this problem, as it has been known and reported by customers since 2015. 4. No warning is provided by the motorcycle. It just…
- Service brakes
THE MOTORCYCLE'S REAR BRAKE IS ALMOST NON-EXISTENT. VERY "MUSHY" WHEN THE PEDAL IS PRESSED AND YOU MUST PRESS VERY HARD TO GET THE CALIPERS TO BITE THE ROTOR. THIS IS VERY NOTICEABLE DURING LOW SPEED RIDING.
- Service brakes
REAR BRAKE IS WEAK, SOMETIMES FAULTY, SOMETIMES DEMANDING TOO MUCH PRESSURE TO START ACTING AND IT DOESN'T BRAKE STRONG ENOUGH.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this Preliminary Evaluation (PE) based on twenty-two (22) Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQs) for soft rear brakes caused by air seeping into the rear brake lines of model year (MY) 2012-2020 Ducati Monster, Multistrada, SuperSport, Panigale, Scrambler and Diavel motorcycles. The consumers were alleging that the rear brakes would not properly function unless the rear brake pedal was applied several times or that there was a total loss of rear braking during normal applications, increasing the risk of a crash. In a March 2020 meeting, Ducati indicated that they were aware of certain models in which air may enter the motorcycles' rear braking system through the brake lines, due to exposure to heat from the exhaust system. Although this condition compromises rear braking performance, Ducati stated that they did not consider this to be a…
