My 2017 Genesis G90 received Safety Recall 018G (NHTSA 24V-107) on December 31, 2024, addressing a starter-solenoid electrical short/fire risk. Around June 7, 2026, I noticed an unusual odor and found the engine-room junction/fuse box extremely hot, with visible heat damage. An independent shop documented melted plastic near the starter relay/junction box, cleaned damaged material, replaced a 200A fuse, and reinstalled the relay kit. It recommended replacing the junction box, which was not done. Around August 7-8, 2026, warning indicators and steering-related problems occurred. The vehicle was towed to Genesis Dublin August 10. Inspection identified substantial thermal damage to the…

November 2, 2025 at 12:19 PM, I received a call from the owner, Jose, who accused me of âassaultâ against his employee Toniâdespite the fact that I have never been physically near Toni. Iâve only been calling to follow up on the unresolved safety issues: no fluids, bad brakes (which they claimed to have repaired), and rear tires with no tread at all. When they repaired the brakes, I would have gladly purchased new tires had I been informed.â¨â¨On November 3rd at 8:23 PM, I found myself stranded on the side of the highway once againâthis time due to exposed tread and a large bubble on the tire. Itâs deeply troubling that a vehicle was sold in such unsafe condition. This raises…

The contact owns a 2017 Genesis G90. The contact stated that while driving at 50 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The driver immediately pulled over. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that four crankshaft position sensors and the valve cover gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that the failure might be related to the timing chain. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

Oil pressure sensor (sender) issue: Oil pressure sensor defect (after oil level was checked a few times due to this issue) cause unstable pressure (oil level warning lights comes on and off) depending on how fast I drive. Make me very worried if itâs going to cause engine issues. I hear this is a common issue with this vehicle and itâs located bottom corner of many components and cause a lot of money/time to get it fixed.

The check engine light keeps coming on. We had spark plugs changed and still keeps miss firing. We are unable to switch between drive modes smoothly. We have taken in for service numerous times.
