Safety recalls

Seat belts › Pretensioner

NHTSA recall 16V940000 · Dec 28, 2016 · 2,394 vehicles

Problem: Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2017 Jaguar XE vehicles manufactured July 12, 2016, to December 2, 2016, and Jaguar F-Type vehicles manufactured July 14, 2016, to December 16, 2016. The affected vehicles have front seat seatbelt pretensioners that may not function properly in the event of a crash.

Risk: If the front seat seatbelt pretensioners do not function properly, the seat occupants may not be adequately restrained in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Fix: Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the front seat belt assemblies, replacing them as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin February 20, 2017. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is J081.

Suspension › Rear

NHTSA recall 16V789000 · Oct 28, 2016 · 23 vehicles

Problem: Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2017 Jaguar F-Type SVR vehicles built between February 19, 2016 and August 15, 2016. Due to assembly corrections during manufacturing, the bolts connecting the rear lower control arms to the knuckle assembly may fail prematurely.

Risk: If the lower control arm bolt connecting bolt fails, the rear control arm assembly may separate from the vehicle, resulting in a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the bolt that connects the rear lower control arm to the rear knuckle joint, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on December 19, 2016. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is J076.

Recall repairs are free at any authorised dealer. A recall listed here may already have been fixed on a particular car: enter its 17-character VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see open recalls.
