NHTSA advisory: park outside and away from buildings until repaired (fire risk).
Problem: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Jeep Wrangler, Wrangler 4XE, and Jeep Gladiator vehicles. The electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring may overheat and cause a vehicle fire, even when the vehicle is parked with the ignition in the "Off" position.
Risk: A vehicle fire increases the risk of injury.
Fix: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures, until their vehicle is repaired. Dealers will inspect and replace the wiring and electric hydraulic power steering pump, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 9, 2026. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Controls and Displays."
Risk: An instrument panel that fails to display critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, can increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will replace the instrument panel cluster, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed between October 3, 2024, and January 23, 2025. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 30B.

Risk: An air bag that does not deploy in a crash can increase the risk of injury.
Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the steering column control module, as necessary free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed April 11, 2024 through June 20, 2024. Oct 6, 2026Unknown or other The interior driver's side door latch lever is experiencing extreme delamination. The "liquid chrome" silver coating has cracked and peeled away from the plastic lever. This has created a razor-sharp edge that poses an immediate safety hazard, acting like an open razor blade when trying to unlock and exit the vehicle. My wife cannot open her door without actively risking laceration to her fingers a second time. I have attached pictures. This vehicle currently has only 34,862 miles on the odometerâwell under the 36,000-mile factory threshold. While I understand the 3-year calendar threshold technically lapsed on September 15, we are only 3 weeks past that date. This is an obvious material…
Sep 10, 2026Electrical system I believe it is the blend door actuator, the heat when on defrost automatically switched between hot to ice cold which fogs up windows and causes other issues. Brought the vehicle in for for the current recall along with service on this, and this was not looked at. When the temp changes the A/C is turned off and temp is turned up to clear the window. It starts blowing ice cold air that fogs up the window almost instantly
May 18, 2026Power train The vehicle does not have linerar acceperation. At times from a start, cold or warn engine, the vehicle will abruptly accelerate harder than the gas pedal was pressed. at light throttle, the vehicle will surge, shutter or chug. Erattic acceperation. after the engine replacement for a connecting rod bearing failure, the engine was running rough, poor mileage and stalled on a wet and cold morning (32degrees, raining). The stall happened on the deaccel lane of the interstate 25 (65 mph). THe dealership replaced one injector and said the problem was fixed. But it is not. Vehicle has not stalled, but we have not had the cold/wet weather.
May 18, 2026Fuel/propulsion system while completly filling the vehicle with gasoline, fuel sprays out of teh filler neck onto the vehicle and ground. This has happened many times, at reputible gas stations (Costco, Sams, walmart, Loaf and Jug). Dealership replaced original filler tube. But problem still exists. Shared video with dealership and they indicated they had no problems Castle Rock Jeep, Castle rock, COlorado
May 18, 2026Service brakes Parking brake would not hold vehicle on hill. When the handle was released, a metalic clinking noise was heard. Castle rock jeep dealership said all was fine. Upon my inspection, I found the parking brake cable connection under teh center console was no longer connected. The cable was reconnected, and the cable was tightened to specifications indicated my Jeep. THe vehicle had 6200 miles on it. p.s. THis was after the warranty replacement of the engine. THe dealership indicated they tested several other jeeps and they all acted as mine. No concern for safety.
Mar 18, 2026Engine 5800 miles, the engine failed due to a connecting rod failure. Chrysler replaced the engine at no cost. Oil changes were done at the year mark as the mileage limit was not reached. Dealership indicates they replace several 3.6 engines a month for warranty failures Castle Rock Jeep, Castle rock Colorado.
Jun 4, 2026Steering The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Gladiator. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V363000 (Steering); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Jun 6, 2026Electrical system The vehicle suffered a catastrophic, systemic high-speed CAN C data bus loop collapse (Diagnostic Trouble Code U0002-00 "Bus Off"), resulting in an immediate, total loss of communication across almost all primary factory control modulesâincluding the Body Control Module (BCM), Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Transmission Control Module (TCM), and ABS gateway. The vehicle is completely immobilized. This specific network data loop shares an exact architectural footprint and physical circuit link with the high-current electrical defects targeted under active, open Federal Safety Recall Campaign 21D (NHTSA Campaign 21V-363) for this VIN. The franchise dealership (Jacksonville CJDR) is…

NHTSA defect investigations
PE24024 · opened Sep 6, 2024 · closed Sep 24, 2026 · led to recall 26V363Underhood fires On September 6, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation PE24024 to investigate allegations of engine compartment fires in model year 2021-2023 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles. Most reports described fires starting on the front passenger side of the engine compartment while the vehicle was turned off, with several originating specifically at the electrohydraulic power steering pump's electrical connector. Following the opening of the investigation, ODI sent an information request letter to the vehicle manufacturer to assess the cause, scope, and frequency of the alleged defect. Additionally, ODI continued to receive reports of vehicle fires with a likely origin at or near the power steering pump. Throughout this investigation, ODI continued to discuss these new reports and the information request letter response with the manufacturer. On June 4,…
