- Engine
I BOUGHT MY JEEP 12/12/16 AND IT HAD 43,319 MILES ON IT. ON 2/7/17 AT 45,233 MILES I HAD THE FIRST ENGINE REPLACEMENT DONE. ON 5/17/17 AT 46,552 MILES I HAD THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT. ON 11/1/18 AT 65,858 MILES I HAD THE SECOND ENGINE REPLACEMENT. ON 3/8/19 AT 68,980 MILES I HAD THE THIRD REPLACEMENT ENGINE INSTALLED. I GOT MY JEEP BACK ON 4/15/19 AND NOW I HEAR A TICKING LIKE SOUND AND I'M TOLD IT COULD BE AN EXHAUST LEAK. ALSO, BEFORE I GOT THE THIRD ENGINE INSTALLED THE JEEP WOULD POP OUT OF FIRST GEAR WHEN I START TO ACCELERATE, JUST LIKE BEFORE. I TALKED TO THE MECHANIC WHO REBUILT MY TRANSMISSION AND HE SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. HE SAID HE COULD FIX IT,…
- Fuel/propulsion system
EVERY TIME I FILL THE JEEP WITH GAS, ABOUT A CUP OF FUEL SPILLS BACK OUT OF THE FILLER NECK BEFORE THE PUMP SHUTS OFF.
- Air bags
AIRBAG LIGHT COME ON FOR 2-3 SECONDS AND TURN OFF FOR 5 SECOND TO 1 MINUTES AND COME BACK ON. NOW LIGHT IS PERMANENTLY ON. THIS COULD BE RELATED TO THE TAKATA RECALL BUT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED.
- Fuel/propulsion system
WHEN FILLING THE PARKED, SHUT-OFF VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE THERE IS REGULAR SPILLOVER. REGARDLESS OF GAS STATION AND PUMP, THE PUMP DOES NOT DETECT FILL AND AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF. THIS HAS BEEN A FREQUENT ISSUE FOR ABOUT A YEAR.
- Steering1 injury
MY JEEP IS EXPERIENCING THE "DEATH WOBBLE". IT ALMOST TURNED OVER ON I-85 OUTSIDE OF ATLANTA. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AT 55MPH AND THERE WAS A SMALL DIP IN THE ROAD. THE JEEP BEGAN TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY. SHE COULD HARDLY CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL OR THE JEEP. WE WERE FINALLY ABLE TO SLOW DOWN ENOUGH (ALMOST REAR ENDED TWICE) AND PULL OVER. THIS IS NOT ISOLATED. WE HAD THE JEEP IN FOR REPAIRS BEFORE AND EVERYTHING LISTED FOR REPAIR OF THE DEATH WOBBLE REPLACED. IT IS DOING IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU NEED TO RECALL THESE JEEPS AND MAKE CHRYSLER FIX THEM BEFORE SOMEONE LIKE MY 23 YEAR OLD DIES!!!!!!!!!!!!1
- Suspension
MY JEEP HAS THE "DEATH WOBBLE"- I'VE SPENT OVER $1000 TRYING TO FIX IT. WHEN GOING OVER 50 ON A HIGHWAY, A SLOW SHAKE QUICKLY TURNS INTO A VIOLENT SHAKING OF THE JEEP BACK AND FORTH UNTIL I'M ALMOST STOPPED (5PMPH-ISH) ON THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY. I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED THE OTHER DAY, AND AM PETRIFIED TO BRING IT ON THE HIGHWAY NOW.
- Unknown or other
NO MATTER HOW LONG THE JEEP RUNS I ONLY HAVE HEAT ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE. I HAVE VERIFIED THAT MY BLEND DOORS ARE WORKING. LIVING IN COLORADO THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE, MY WINDSHIELD DOES NOT DEFROST COMPLETELY.
- Electrical systemFire
DROVE UP TO MY HOUSE AND PARKED THE JEEP (AFTER DRIVING 8-10 MILES). WENT INSIDE THE HOUSE. WITHIN 10 MINUTES WENT BACK OUTSIDE AND SMOKE WAS BOILING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND IT WAS DRIPPING FIRE ON THE GROUND. FULLY INVOLVED VERY QUICKLY.

- Totally Integrated Power Module FailureClosed
In a letter dated August 21, 2014, the Center for Auto Safety (CAS) petitioned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to initiate a defect investigation of alleged failures associated with the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) installed in Chrysler SUV?s, trucks, and vans beginning in the 2007 model year. The petitioner alleges that TIPM defects may result in engine stall, airbag non-deployment, failure of fuel pump shutoff resulting in unintended acceleration, fire, and other symptoms. On September 25, 2014, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened DP14-004 to evaluate the petition for a grant or deny decision. ODI analyzed complaint data provided by CAS as well as complaints submitted to ODI from consumers. In total, there were 296 complaints submitted by the petitioner in the original petition and five supplements, including 271 complaints related to…

- Fuel Spill During RefuelingClosed
ODI found the rate of warranty claims related to fuel spit back on the subject vehicles is lower than other vehicles previously recalled to correct defects related to fuel spit back.Although the rate of complaints reported to the agency on the subject vehicles is higher than or similar to the rates experienced in previous investigations where safety recalls were conducted, ODI suspects that the NHTSA safety complaints submitted by subject vehicles owners may have been influenced by internet related publicity both before and during this investigation.A safety-related defect trend has not been identified at this time and further use of agency resources does not appear to be warranted.Accordingly, this investigation is closed. The closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by NHTSA that no safety-related defect exists. The agency will monitor the issue and reserves the right…
