NHTSA recall 24V154000 · Feb 27, 2024 · 351 vehicles
Problem: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024 Titan, Frontier, Infiniti QX60, Pathfinder, 2023-2024 Sentra, Versa, Kicks, Infiniti QX50, and 2023 Rogue vehicles. Due to a manufacturing issue, the driver's air bag inflator may absorb moisture, and cause the air bag to deploy improperly.
Risk: An air bag that deploys improperly may not protect the driver as intended during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Fix: Dealers will replace the front driver's air bag assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 10, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PD103, PD104, and PMA34.
Recall repairs are free at any authorised dealer. A recall listed here may already have been fixed on a particular car: enter its 17-character VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see open recalls.

Sep 27, 2026Visibility › Glass, side/rear I am the first owner of this car. I noticed the windows would make an air like sound everytime im driving on the freeway. Ive owned many vehicles and have never heard this before. One day, which was yesterday. the window (passenger) was rolled up, and while on the freeway, it exploded all over my friend. nothing made impact, there was no shatter indication. it completely exploded. it turned completely white (a full shatter) in a half a second and shattered. nothing hit the window. the window was rolled up. and my friend was looking out it. my ac was on medium, and it was about 80 degrees. so i dont know if the glass wasnt tempered properly or what. but this was terrifying we got glass in…
Aug 19, 2026Engine Car lost power and wouldnât go over 55mph
Aug 5, 2026Visibility › Glass, side/rear Issue: The rear windshield suddenly imploded while the defroster was turned on while on the road, causing significant fear and glass debris. We were driving when it happened, sending glass all on the road. Photos are available. It's currently at the dealership, awaiting repair. The car has only been inspected by the dealer as far as I am aware. There was no warning messages or lights prior to shattering, only a strong electrical burning smell moments beforehand.
Jul 2, 2026Electrical system Electrical/ECU failure while shifting gears (manual transmission), can be inspected by dealership. Vehicle stalled while going into 2nd gear and could not crank/start, happened in busy intersection, emergency tow had to be called, could have easily gotten hit/injured. Problem has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by dealer/service center. Has been inspected, but only to replace the blown fuse, not to solve the underlying issue. No warning lights prior to failure, only a fuse that keeps blowing (15 amp, slot 55), alarm/beeping does sound when key is turned (possible anti-theft).
Apr 10, 2026Engine Driving the vehicle, and it went into limp mode. Loss power and would not accelerate. Had to drive very low speeds to get home.
Dec 2, 2025Service brakes When decelerating/braking there is a knocking in the rear of the car. It has gotten progressively worse. Had the dealership check it out but found nothing wrong. They didn't drive the car.

Mar 4, 2025Unknown or other When you take off from stopping, it jerks some and doesn't want to move. It also will stop in the middle of the road while driving. I bought this car new in 2024. It's very dangerous especially when I have children in the car. It has happened several times.

NHTSA defect investigations
PE24007 · opened Mar 7, 2024 · closed Oct 2, 2025Reduced Power After Engine Stall The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this investigation on March 7, 2024, after receiving twenty (20) consumer complaints and multiple field reports describing reduced power (limp mode) after re-starting the vehicle following a stall on certain 2022-2024 model year (MY) Nissan Versa.  A Preliminary Evaluation was opened to gather information and assess whether the subject vehicles contain a safety-related defect. During this investigation, Nissan explained that certain 2022-2044 MY Nissan Versa vehicles equipped with a manual transmission may, under specific conditions, experience a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) along with reduced engine performance following an engine start-up after a stall. In certain conditions, if the vehicle stalls and an engine restart occurs within five (5) seconds, the vehicle will enter a fail-safe mode with limited engine torque. The…
