Several months ago, my digital cluster on my 2020 330i blacked out briefly and came back on. The other day, after temporarily disconnecting the batter and correctly reconnecting, the digital cluster and driver assist items all failed. Because of this failure, I no longer have access to my speedometer, engine temperature, or engine lights in the event that something needs immediate attention. Not having the speedometer requires me to check my speed using a GPS device would causes me to divert my attention from the road which is a hazard to pedestrians and drivers alike. I also do not have the driver assist items which can result in an accident which would injure both myself and other…

The left hydraulic engine motor mount (P/N 22117581621) completely collapsed and failed at 6 years and only 24,811 miles. The right mount was also replaced at the same time (P/N 22117581622). The failure allows unsafe, excessive engine movement and shifting under rotational torque loads. This shifting creates an immediate safety hazard, risking the sudden compromise of surrounding mechanical systems, cooling lines, and electrical harnesses while the vehicle is in motion. BMW North America acknowledged the premature nature of the failure by approving a goodwill repair for the labor costs but forced me to pay out-of-pocket for the defective parts. The engine mount issue was detected when the…

The contact owns a 2020 BMW 330i. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the starter made an abnormal, grinding metal-like sound. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the starter had failed. The starter was replaced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V056000 (Electrical System); however, the vehicle failed to start one morning post-repair. The message "Engine Cannot Start" was displayed. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the starter failure had caused damage to the battery. The dealer informed the contact that the battery needed to be replaced prior to the starter replacement. Additionally, the contact was informed that the…

Good afternoon. I have called and spoken to my local BMW dealership at Grayson BMW service department many times. As of today they report no remedy and have no idea when a resolution will be available. Filing this complaint (second formal written complaint) due to lack of this not being in any sort of "timely manner." This recall is noted as an URGENT FIRE RISK WHEN PARKED for almost seven months now. I have parked the car outside and through the winter and now getting into the summer. In looking up this recall and reading associated documents, it seems there has been a remedy to many makes and models but still nothing for the 2020 330i, and no word on what to do, advisement, or timeline on…

My car was parked at home and hadnt been driven in hours. My neighbor contacted me, saying that my car was on fire. I went outside, and it was on fire, and the fire department was called. After BMW conducted an investigation, they deemed the car fire to be related to the active recall. The manufacturer (BMW) is violating the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act (49 U.S Code Section 30120) by refusing a "remedy without charge" for recall 24V-536. A manufacturer is required to provide a remedy for a safety recall "without charge." BMW is offering a loan payoff (21,851.37). This current offer violated this federal statute by forcing me to absorb the loss of my $2500 down payment and…

The Active Grille Shutter (AGS) system on my vehicle suffered an internal mechanical failure (fault codes 138206 and 138224). These shutters are a critical part of the engine cooling system. Failure of the AGS to operate correctly leads to immediate engine overheating risks, potential sudden loss of power (Limp Mode) in high-speed traffic, and thermal damage to engine components, posing a severe safety hazard. The manufacturer, BMW of North America, has officially acknowledged this defect via Extended Warranty SIB 01 03 25. However, both the local dealer (BMW of Sterling) and BMW of North America corporate office have formally refused to honor this safety-related warranty repair. Despite…
