- Steering
September 18 2026 I was driving with my 3 grand kids in the truck when coming into a right curve the steering locked up causing me to go into on coming traffic. I yanked hard right and got it back in the lane. Felt like the truck cut off, pulled off side of the road looked it over didnât see anything wrong checked the steering seemed ok. Drove slow got my grandkids dropped off had a 15 min ride home, did it again. Donât feel safe driving it. Waiting for answers
- Power train
When driving at a slow speed truck seemed to die down and not want to shift to next gears. Truck appeared to shake when pressing on the gas lightly.
- Power train
The vehicle experienced severe transmission hesitation, rough shifting, and shuddering early on, which was brought to a Chevrolet dealership under factory warranty at 16,875 miles (April 2021). The issue was reproduced by the dealer at that time. The transmission has now suffered a complete failure at 97,277 miles, creating an immediate driving and safety hazard due to loss of propulsion while operating the vehicle. The failed transmission and vehicle are currently available for inspection upon request.
- Power train
Transmission is shuddering, I had a transmission flush done, and a tune up, and neither helped. I am concerned the transmission is going to go out while driving, especially in a busy intersection and cause an accident. I have had problems with the vehicle no accelerating when need going uphill to get out of the way of traffic when turning. Problem is duplicated every day until I can get it fixed. It has been looked at by a dealership and other personal mechanic shops. No lights on the dash have appeared.
- Fuel system, gasoline
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that while coming to a stop, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the fuel gauge went from full to empty. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who replaced the fuel pump control module. The contact stated that his two son-in-law's vehicles, which were the same year, make, and model, also had the fuel pump control module failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
- Unknown or other
Failure of Torque Converter. Transmission flushed. May or may not work. Retest after 200 miles. If failure continues, replace entire Torque Converter.
- Service brakes
VIN: [XXX]. 2019 Chevy Colorado, ~115,000 mi. FAILED COMPONENT: Vacuum pump failed internally; debris damaged the exhaust camshaft. Pump is cam-driven with no shear pin, so seizure cuts brake assist AND sends metal debris into the engine. Truck/parts are at Chapman Chevrolet, Tempe AZ, available for inspection. SAFETY RISK: On XXX, brake pedal suddenly lost assist while my son merged onto XXX from [XXX]. Pedal effort/stopping distance increased with no warning - high risk of collision merging into highway traffic. CONFIRMED BY DEALER: Yes. Chapman Chevrolet confirmed vacuum pump failure and camshaft damage, consistent with GM TSB 21-NA-268 (drive-lug failure). OTHER INSPECTIONS: Dealer only…
- Electrical system
The infotainment system is not functioning. The screen will come on as I turn on the truck, then it goes blank. Sometimes it flashes and then goes black. I cannot use any of my apps or connect to Apple CarPlay. This has been going on for months now. I have complained to Chevrolet and the dealership. They have failed to provide a solution. This truck only has 35,000 miles on it. We can no longer take it on trips because we have no navigation, especially in areas where wi-fi may be hard to connect to by just our phones. We have followed all the trouble shooting provided in the Chevy app or online and nothing helps.
