NHTSA recall 18V550000 · Aug 21, 2018 · 5,847 vehicles
Problem: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Forest River Salem, Wildcat Maxx, Wildwood, Vibe, and Rainier recreational trailers. Fix: Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install a new wiring harness to reroute the wiring, free of charge. The recall began September 25, 2018. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-503-831-5410. Forest River's number for this recall is 22/30-0824.

Apr 16, 2018 · 1,500 miles · fireUnknown or other THIS TRAVEL TRAILER CAUGHT FIRE IN OUR DRIVEWAY AND BURNT. NO APPLIANCES WERE ON. THERE HAVE BEEN 3 FIRE INVESTIGATORS THAT HAVE SEARCH FOR THE CAUSE AND HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO IDENTIFY HOW OR WHY IT BURNT. WE OWNED THE TT FOR AROUND 550 DAYS, IT WAS IN THE REPAIR SHOP FOR AROUND 150 DAYS AND WE USED IT FOR 30 DAYS. BECAUSE THE INVESTIGATORS COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE ABSOLUTE CAUSE OF THE FIRE, THE MANUFACTURER CLAIMS THAT THEY ARE NOT AT FAULT. TRAILERS DO NOT SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST UNLESS THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE MATERIALS OR WORKMANSHIP.
