NHTSA recall 24V911000 · Dec 5, 2024 · 70 vehicles
Problem: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2024 RAV4 and 2025 Lexus NX vehicles. Some of the bolts that secure the front brake caliper and the wheel hub bearing may be loose, which can result in a damaged caliper brake hose or possible wheel detachment.
Risk: A damaged brake line can cause a brake fluid leak, reducing brake performance and increasing the distance required to stop the vehicle. Wheel detachment can result in a loss of vehicle control. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will inspect and tighten the front brake caliper mounting bracket and hub bearing bolts, as necessary, free of charge. In addition, any damaged components will be replaced, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2025. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) Number 202, "Head Restraints."
Risk: A head restraint that is inadvertently removed and not reinstalled can increase the risk of injury during a rear-end crash.
Fix: Dealers will replace the driver and front passenger seat head rest assemblies, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed February 14, 2025. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 24LB06 and 24LA06.

Sep 18, 2026Visibility/wiper While sitting stopped near a highway entrance, the panoramic sunroof of the vehicle spontaneously exploded with a loud popping sound. Glass pieces rained down the outside of the car (the interior cover was closed). After exploding, the panoramic sunroof had deep large cracks throughout the glass remaining in the middle. The edges of the glass were shattered and the pieces of glass were falling from the edges. The vehicle is currently being inspected by Lexus. There were no warning signs. Although the interior cover to the sunroof was closed at the time, my passenger and I could have been at risk for shattered glass pieces raining down inside the vehicle. The problem has not been reproduced…
Jun 15, 2026Visibility › Defroster/defogger/hvac system › Air handler/chamber, ducts, and valves The Lexus NX 350 has developed a very strong odor coming from the ventilation system. The smell is consistent with standing water, stale moisture, and/or mold. This is a significant health and safety concern, as I am worried there may be standing water or mold, potentially including black mold, within the HVAC/ventilation system. If mold or contaminated moisture is present, it could potentially be circulated throughout the vehicle and contribute to respiratory irritation or allergy symptoms. I brought this concern to the dealershipâs attention during a routine service visit. The cabin air filter was replaced, but this did not resolve the odor or the underlying issue. The ventilation…
Aug 15, 2026Electrical system Our 19-month old Lexus NX450h with under 7,000 miles on it was not driven for a week. When we went to start the vehicle this morning, the car would not unlock via the keyfob, credit card key or app. The car required AAA to open the doors and jump start it. This is a very common failure with the 12-volt battery in the Lexus NX hybrids. This could result in a motorist being left stranded somewhere.
Jul 31, 2026Wheels I purchased a brand new 2025 Lexus with only 3 miles recently I had a nail in my tire and took my vehicle to a local tire shop who could not removed the tire to put a patch because I did not have tire lock key; we searched the vehicle from top to bottom one was never given to me at the time of purchase. I contacted Lexus of Palm Beach several times and left a message for my service advisor BK and texted BK no response and several messages for the service manager who to this date has never called me back, finally BK told me that âLexus had a new system and he didnât received the messagesâ I reside in [XXX] and BK promised to coordinate with the dealership I provided him for me to…
Jul 9, 2026Structure › Body › Door › Handle › Interior The interior door latch is electronic with a manual lever in case it loses power. The problem is the electronic latch will occasionally malfunctions, and the door is partially open. When this happens, you cannot get the door to open all the way with the electric door latch or the manual door latch. The only way to get it open is to pull very hard on the door to close it again or get someone to push on the outside of the door. I alerted the dealer about this, and they said I have to push harder when I open the door. This has happened to me many times. The safety issue here is plain. If a person is not strong enough to pull the door closed it will not open.
Aug 8, 2025 · crashForward collision avoidance › Automatic emergency braking My wife was backing out of a parking space and her car did not give a warning nor did it stop as she hit another parked car. Damage to both cars was substantial and if the car was operating properly she should NOT have been able to hit another car in the manner she did. The car has been recalled for similar problems. I filed a complaint with Lexus who did an investigation and indicate there was no problem with the system. I can only say that if a person was behind the car she would have most likely run them down. The car DID NOT STOP as it was supposed to.
Feb 8, 2026Electrical system Battery was DEAD after being parked for one week. Car was in residential garage (outdoor temp about 10 degrees. garage temp measured 46 degrees. Please Note: The SAME problem happened to my 2025 plug in RX and 2025 plug in NX. I doubt this is a coincidence and there are plenty of websites that indicate a significant problem.
Jan 2, 2026 · 9,710 miles · crashVehicle speed control The contact owns a 2025 Lexus NX 250. The contact stated that while parking in a disabled spot, going forward, the vehicle struck a handicap post during an unintended acceleration, which then crashed into the parked vehicle in front before the contact was able to shift the vehicle into park. The contact stated that the vehicle went over the parking barriers between the spots. The front of the vehicle and the driver's side fender were damaged, and there was property damage from the handicap post. The vehicle came to a stop after hitting the post. The contact then reversed the vehicle and shifted it into park. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred during rainy weather conditions and…
