NHTSA recall 20V077000 · Feb 12, 2020 · 70,117 vehicles
Problem: Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Macan vehicles. The fuel pump service cover may contact the flow nozzle on the filter flange of the fuel pump, potentially causing cracks and a fuel leak.
Risk: Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of a fire.
Fix: Porsche will rework or replace and apply a protective film to the fuel pump flange. in addition, the fuel pump flange will be inspected and replaced if cracks are present. The recall began April 10, 2020. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ALA2.
Problem: Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain model year 2015 Macan vehicles manufactured March 6, 2014, to April 26, 2014. During manufacturing, the brake booster may have been damaged during installation.
Risk: If the brake booster was damaged during installation, the vacuum in the brake booster may drop when the brakes are actuated, resulting in a reduced brake force boost, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Porsche will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the brake booster, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on December 29, 2014. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-545-8039. Porsche's number for this recall is AE02.
Recall repairs are free at any authorised dealer. A recall listed here may already have been fixed on a particular car: enter its 17-character VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see open recalls.

Apr 9, 2026Unknown or other The liftgate in the back of the car every time it rains. It opens by itself because of the button in the very back that can open the lift gate. Is it waterproof and water keeps leaking in? And it keeps making it worse and worse. And then it keeps opening up. While I'm driving, and it's extremely unsafe, and like it opens up like 5 minutes after I close it for no reason. Like it starts opening it up. When I start the car, it starts opening it up. When I do this and I it just opens up randomly especially when I'm driving, or if I'm parked right behind someone, then the liftgate's gonna hit something or something's gonna fall out. And I don't think it's safe to drive with it, because it's…
Oct 4, 2026 · 97,000 milesFuel system, gasoline The contact owns a 2015 Porsche Macan. The contact stated that there was a fuel leak inside the cabin underneath the rear passengerâs seat, which caused a strong gasoline odor throughout the vehicle. The vehicle became inoperable. The contact observed a cracked filter flange underneath the seat, which resulted in a pooling of raw fuel. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V077000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer and the dealer were notified of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle was previously repaired under the recall. The failure mileage was 97,000.
Aug 28, 2026Fuel/propulsion system In late August 2026 I noticed a strong gasoline odor in and around the vehicle, particularly after refueling, and stopped driving it immediately. On September 2, 2026, an independent Porsche specialist inspected the fuel-pump service area beneath the rear seat and documented: (1) the low-pressure fuel-pump filter/sender flange was actively leaking liquid fuel and venting gasoline vapor toward the passenger compartment; (2) liquid fuel was pooling on top of the flange assembly; (3) the fuel-pump service cover showed evidence of the earlier ALA2 recall rework, including modified structural reinforcement ribs and a relocated alignment marking; (4) despite the prior rework, the plastic…
Apr 1, 2026Air bags Same passenger airbag issue as what everyone else is reporting! A recall is needed again for this!
Nov 12, 2025Air bags My airbag light has remained on, uninterrupted, for over about one month now. I had the fault code read by an independent shop and they informed me that the fault was the occupant sensor for the passenger seat (BodySense front passenger seat occupancy sensor mat). They also informed me that this was the subject of a recall. Recall 17V-133/AMA2. I contacted a Porsche dealer as to the problem, made an appointment and took the car to the dealer. The dealer informed me that the recall on this part had already been completed. I expressed my concern that the recalled part obviously failed again, but the dealer indicated that corporate would not allow them to replace it again under the prior…
Aug 1, 2025Structure › Body The rear subframe of my 2015 Porsche Macan has suffered severe corrosion to the extent that it was no longer safe to operate the vehicle. This corrosion led to an unexpected failure of the subframe, causing the rear end of the vehicle to essentially collapse. As a result, significant damage occurred to both the control arms and the rear differential. A local independent repair shop specializing in German-made vehicles (Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, VW) assessed the subframe and confirmed that it was in extremely poor condition, having prematurely rotted and failed. Porsche offers a 12-year limited warranty against corrosion for body panels, but this warranty does not extend to the subframe. The…
Jun 19, 2025Air bags Dashboard has an issue where staples have come out, I am told this may impact the air bags in an accident. Dealer recommended selling the car. This is recurring issue that is very common.
Oct 7, 2024Engine Coolant pipe burst or started a sudden leak and lost all the coolant while driving. I had to have the vehicle towed and repaired which costed me $2750. Porsche is aware of the problem but does not have a solution, until someone is killed when the vehicle stalls while driving.

EA21002 · opened Sep 17, 2021 · openDesiccated Air Bag Inflator Rupture From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 2016 Blomquist Report at www.nhtsa.gov/sites/nhtsa.gov/files/documents/expert_report-hrblomquist.pdf.Consequently, all frontal inflators using propellant 2004 that do not contain a "desiccant" (a substance that traps and holds moisture) in US vehicles are under recall. These "non-desiccated" inflators either have been or are required to be replaced. In some cases, the remedy part for these recalled…
