Problem: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) (Stellantis) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Ram 1500, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Chrysler Pacifica, Ram 3500, Ram 3500 cab chassis, Ram 2500, Ram 4500 cab chassis, Ram 5500 cab chassis, 2023 Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a GVWR less than 10,000 lbs., and Chrysler Voyager vehicles. The steering column control module may not be welded properly, which can prevent the driver's air bag from deploying in a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Risk: An air bag that does not deploy in a crash can increase the risk of injury.
Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the steering column control module, as necessary free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed April 11, 2024 through June 20, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's numbers for this recall are 14B, 33B, 34B, 35B, 36B.

Steering control module

Recall 23V799000185,251 vehicles

Problem: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023 Ram 1500 Classic, Ram 3500 Classic, 3500 Cab Chassis, 2023-2024 Ram 2500, 4500/5500 Cab Chassis, and Ram 3500 vehicles. The steering column control module may cause the high beams to activate when the turn signal is used or activate the turn signal when the high beams are used. In addition, the turn signal self-canceling feature may not function properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Risk: Turn signals and/or high beams that do not function as intended may cause confusion or reduced visibility to other road users, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will update the steering column control module (SCCM) software, and inspect and replace the module, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 19, 2023. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's numbers for this recall are B2A and D5A.

Service brakes
Since first test driving the truck in March of 2025, there was an issue with the ABS system warning coming on. When that happens, it also disables 4 wheel drive, electronic stability control, cruise control and trailer brakes. The first 3x it happened while NOT towing at about 45mph. Other times it happened while towing a 16,000# trailer which caused vehicle control issues when braking. I did however discover, in a panic, that the manual trailer brake lever still works. The cause of the ABS system shut down was determined to be code: C0037-2F (Left Wheel Speed Sensor Signal Erratic) It has be brought in to the dealer for repair at the following mileages: 4,478, 4,699, 13,790, 14,745 and…

Engine
The truck has a CEL P2459. The unit was taken back to the dealer on June 15, 2026, and they diagnosed an aftermarket air cleaner and regeneration. The CEL continued to display P2459, and I returned the truck to the dealer on 9/23. The dealer stated I had a defective air cleaner housing and was willing to pay 80% of the cost. They also said the restriction likely caused the DPF filter to plug because it caused excessive DPF generation. I believe this defective air housing may be on multiple units since these are likely purchased in batches. Ram should replace all air cleaner housings from the manufacturer batch related to my unit. The contact owns a 2024 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while pulling into a parking lot, the transmission was shifted into reverse and then shifted into drive, and the vehicle unexpectedly accelerated without the accelerator pedal being depressed. The vehicle crashed into a concrete post. The contact stated that the front passengerâs side of the vehicle sustained severe damage. The vehicle was taken to a body shop and inspected by the insurance company for a claim. The dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the independent acceleration had occurred several times before the crash. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

Suspension
The truck is in for its second front end alignment. I bought it brand new in October 2024 and it has about 43000 miles on it. I'm concerned for my family's safety. If it is going out of alignment this often, I don't feel safe driving it. The dealership has no explanation of why its going out so fast. I know I'm not the only one having this problem. There are thousands of people saying they are having the same issues. It was out of alignment from the factory. Pretty much all of them are. Something needs to be done about this. I put today's date but the first time I took it in was less than a year and 20000 miles ago.

Loss of various systems while towing 14,000# trailer in hilly terrain. Loss of trailer brakes caused diminished control on the vehicle. * 4WD System Temporarily Unavailable * Service Antilock Brake System * Service Electronic Stability Control * Service Trailer Brake System The issue was previously repaired 3x. The problem originally happened 3x on the same road in the same spot. Right turn off a road, then going up hill. The first 2x lasting less than 10 miles. The 3rd, approximately 6,000 miles.
