Recall 23V169000276 vehicles

Problem: Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Cougar travel trailers. These vehicles may have been manufactured without an emergency exit window.
Risk: Without an emergency exit window, there would not be a second way for occupants to exit the vehicle during an emergency, increasing the risk of injury.
Fix: Dealers will inspect, and replace the window if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 29, 2023. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 23-440.

The structural floor/subfloor in my 2023 Keystone Cougar 30BHS travel trailer developed a low, weak area near the kitchen sink/refrigerator and progressed to widespread softness and significant flexing in normal walking areas. I first noticed it a few months before September 2024 and reported it in writing that September. The date field is my September 23, 2024 written report, not onset; the true onset is UNKNOWN. No physical injury has resulted as of October 5, 2026. The concern is unreliable support underfoot: deflection or giving-way may cause loss of balance, a fall, or injury during ordinary use of the parked trailer. Structure
The contact owns a 2023 Keystone Cougar. The contact stated that the emergency exit window casing was too long and the inside window glass did not fit evenly. The contact stated that the window casing was unusually wider than the frame unit. The contact received recall NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V169000 (Structure). The recall repair was completed. However, excessive caulking and screws were applied, and the recall repair was not completed proficiently. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 10.
